A skin experience that combines exfoliation, cupping massage, and LED technology with serum infusion to cleanse, smooth, and hydrate.
How the Treatment Works
Glace hydrodermabrasion begins with cleansing, followed by gentle exfoliation using diamond-tipped applicators. This step helps remove dead skin cells and prepare the skin. A hydrating serum is applied directly to the skin while a controlled vacuum clears pores and supports absorption. The term “hydrodermabrasion” refers to this combination of exfoliation and hydration using a single, specialised device.
How it works
The Glacē treatment integrates features that work together to achieve visible results.
Dermabrasion with diamond tips gently cleanses, exfoliates, and replenishes skin with precision-engineered, single-use diamond tips tailored to various skin types. GlacēVac™ closed vacuum system allows for simultaneous skin cleansing.
Dual-mode cupping massage
Offers two cupping modes to support lymphatic drainage for a reduction in the appearance of puffiness**.
GlacēFinish™: LED technology and biocellulose mask hydration
Paired with a soothing biocellulose mesh mask, red, green, or blue lights calm irritation and promote protection of the skin barrier, and improve skin tone.
Suitable Candidates
Glacé treatment may be considered by patients with dry skin or visible changes in skin texture. It may also be discussed as part of a general skincare routine. The treatment combines cleansing, hydration, and exfoliation, which may be suitable for a range of skin types. However, it is not recommended for everyone and requires a detailed patient assessment to determine suitability.
During the consultation, several factors will be assessed, such as skin sensitivity, active skin conditions, and medical history. Not all patients can have the treatment, as conditions like pregnancy, open wounds in the target area, or skin reactions may affect the outcome or increase the risk of complications. Therefore, the patient’s skin and overall health will be carefully assessed before proceeding to ensure that the treatment is appropriate.
Treatment Areas
Glacé treatment is most commonly used on the face, where concerns such as dryness, buildup on the skin surface, or changes in skin texture may occur. The treatment involves cleansing and lightly exfoliating the skin while delivering a solution that supports hydration. Areas like the forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin are typically included in the session, depending on the patient’s skin needs.
In some cases, the treatment may also be used to address concerns in other areas, such as the neck or chest. These areas are often exposed to the sun and environmental factors, which can lead to dryness or changes in skin condition. Whether these areas are included in the session depends on the consultation and assessment with Dr Anh.
What to Expect During the Treatment
During the session, a handheld device is placed on the target area. The device is then moved across the treatment area in a controlled and steady motion. The session may take around 60 minutes, depending on which areas are being treated.
As the device moves across the skin, patients may feel a light sensation similar to cool water or gentle suction.
After the treatment, the skin may feel warm, appear red, or be more sensitive than usual. These effects usually settle after a few days, depending on the skin type and how the skin reacts. Patients will be given clear instructions on how to care for their skin at home.
Aftercare and Recovery
After a Glacé treatment session, patients may return to their daily routine.
Specific aftercare instructions will be provided based on the patient’s skin type and the area treated. Patients are advised to keep their skin well-hydrated and use gentle skincare products. Most importantly, patients should monitor the treated area for any unusual or persistent skin reactions and should contact the clinic for further guidance. A follow-up consultation at the Perth clinic may be advised to assess how the patient’s skin responds to the treatment and discuss additional sessions if necessary.
